Privacy policy
Set Live Wallpaper does not collect, sell, transmit or share personal data with the developer.
What stays on your device
Settings, shortcuts, tasks, uploaded wallpaper videos and the read-only handle for a user-selected music folder are stored locally in the browser profile using Chrome Storage and IndexedDB. Music files are read directly from disk only when needed for playback. They are not copied, uploaded, modified or transmitted.
Search and website navigation
When the user explicitly submits a web search, the query is passed to Chrome Search API. Chrome sends it to the search provider currently selected in the user’s Chrome settings. Set Live Wallpaper does not select, replace, detect or modify that provider, and search queries are not sent to the developer. Opening a shortcut navigates directly to the website selected by the user.
Permissions
The extension uses storage to remember the customized New Tab layout, unlimitedStorage so an optional user-selected video wallpaper is not rejected by Chrome’s normal extension-storage quota, and search solely to call Chrome Search API after the user submits a query. Folder access is read-only and granted explicitly through Chrome’s system folder picker.
The use of information received from Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Control and deletion
Uploaded videos can be removed from the wallpaper picker. A music folder can be disconnected at any time. Removing the extension removes Chrome-managed extension data.
